I want to be homed schooled, I am a junior. My mother has sent me on a quest to find tutors who will home school me for about 4 or so hours a day. Are there any websites or services I can use to find certified teachers/tutors? Thanks!
Oh! Thanks for clearing that up!

I want to home school my two daughters who are going into 2nd and 4th grades and want to hire an elementary school teacher part time to do this. I have absolutely no idea how to find someone who can come to our home and teach the girls under the California curriculum and who has all their own teaching materials and who has all the correct credentials as well as at least a year classroom teaching experience?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have a daughter that hasn't began school yet but I am considering home schooling her. I am also going to college to become a math teacher. I'm considering opening a very small and private home school where I would have no more than 6 children that I would home school. I would teach all the same things as a public school, the only difference is that it would be smaller and it would allow for more one on one with each student. Would you enroll your child is something like this?

Several years ago, one lady actually thought the only reason I was home schooling my daughter was because I just didn't know there was a public school in town.
Any interesting stories?

I work with a woman who just told me that she and her boyfriend are going to home school one of their kids (who isn't behaving well in school)... they blame the school. Anyway, she has a high school diploma herself and her boyfriend is a high school drop out. They are supposedly going to home school this 15 year old.
Question: Don't people who home-school their kids have to have some kind of higher education?

If I can home school other people's children, is there a limit to number? I would like to teach five first graders. I have a teaching degree~K-6th grade, but I've let my certification slip.

We home school our 12 year old son and 9 year old daughter through a very good christian program, people are constantly judging my children and I. They think my children are going to be slower than public school children. Whats your thoughts.

My daughter is in sixth grade and she is doing terrible. It seems that the teachers in her school either do not care or do not know how to teach. They send home homework that has not even been gone over. We are left trying to figure it all out. I have been giving home schooling alot of thought and I don't know if we can afford for me to stay home and do this. Also, in NY State do you have to pay school taxes if your child is being home schooled? Does anyone have any answers?
