Would you enroll your children in a small, private home school?

August 29th, 2009 | by |

I have a daughter that hasn't began school yet but I am considering home schooling her. I am also going to college to become a math teacher. I'm considering opening a very small and private home school where I would have no more than 6 children that I would home school. I would teach all the same things as a public school, the only difference is that it would be smaller and it would allow for more one on one with each student. Would you enroll your child is something like this?

To be ‘home schooled’ a child must go to school ‘at his own home’ and you would actually be running a small ‘private school’ and would have to fulfill those requirements before you could take in any other pupils but your own daughter.

YES… I homeschool my 4 children. And its the best thing you can do.. You can spend more one on one time with the children especially if one needs more help. You can teach them what you want and not the useless stuff they teach in school.. On and On… Good for you and go for it.

Im not sure why so many people are closed minded to homeschooling (other then there lazy) but your child has way more benifts w/homeschooling and they still interact with other kids when you take them to sports or dance classes..

You dont have to worry about all the rat race crap that goes on in schools as well. My dh and his brothers were homeschooled there whole lifes and never had any problems or regrets and they are very successful people …

I dont like the whole homeschool idea…your child will learn very valuable social skills in an actual school setting…you are only sheltering your children from things they would have to deal with anyway…were you home schooled? probably not, so why do that to your child?

    And mess my kid up?

Think about what happens when they go to Highschool? No friends and no social skills…
I like the idea of it though, maybe doing it as an after school thing for an hour or two twice a week.

no i prefer the public schools because there is so much more activitives and lots more skills to learn and do also you have all kinds of sports and school related trips.plus it give the kids a better way to learn how to get along with others and understanding, overall they can learn to know more than one teacher and learn they have to be in class at a set time theres also a lot of life lessons to be learned at public schools
